Treatment options
Following diagnosis of your condition, your gynaecologist will talk you through the treatment options available, and together you will plan the right approach for you. This will depend on your symptoms, your age and whether you want to have children. If there are any underlying causes or diseases, these may need to be treated first.
Surgery
If your gynaecological condition requires surgery, this can usually be performed at same BMI hospital as your first appointment, and arranged at a time suitable to you – there are no long waiting lists at BMI hospitals.
Minimally invasive techniques are available for a number of procedures, resulting in less scarring and faster recovery times. Together you and your gynaecologist will decide the best route for you and develop a tailor-made treatment package.
As part of the UK's number one private hospital group, we perform more complex surgery than any other private hospital group. Each BMI hospital meets strict national clinical standards and provides a full range of support and back-up facilities. This, combined with rigorous hygiene standards and nursing care from a friendly professional team, means you will be looked after in a clean, caring and comfortable environment.
Physiotherapy
Gynaecological conditions can sometimes be treated successfully using physiotherapy. Many BMI hospitals have fully equipped physiotherapy departments staffed by accredited State Registered Physiotherapists. Your gynaecologist can refer you for treatment within the physiotherapy department, and you can book appointments at times to suit your lifestyle.
Medication
If your symptoms or condition can be treated using medication your gynaecologist can give you a private prescription during your consultation.
Prices
The cost for your treatment, whatever route you take, will be quoted in advance, so you know the costs involved before going ahead. See our information on paying for treatment for more information on prices, inclusive packages and ways to pay including the BMI Card.
