Diagnostic tests
Your gynaecologist will need to determine if there is any underlying pelvic disease in order to offer you a diagnosis and possible treatment options for your condition.
Depending on your symptoms, your gynaecologist may need to undertake diagnostic tests including one or more of the following:
-
A pelvic examination
-
Blood tests
-
Ultrasound scan
-
Hysteroscopy
-
Laparoscopy
-
Biopsy
If you need any of these tests your gynaecologist will explain these fully during your first consultation, and you will have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like. You will also be advised of any additional costs in advance, so you know what’s involved before you decide to go ahead.
Treatment is affordable and could not be easier accessed with BMI Healthcare, for further details see Paying for treatment.
Usually, any tests can be undertaken within the same BMI hospital as your initial appointment, at a time that is convenient to you. You can be assured of the highest standards of care from a friendly and professional team, in a comfortable and relaxing environment. You will be treated in confidence, with respect and dignity throughout.
